Your apartment is fitted with a Video Intercom Unit, this carries out several functions:

1.       Communicates with the Concierge on the ground floor.

2.       Communicates to each of the entry points to the building, which are:

·         Crown Street Entry

·         Kennedy Street Entry

·         Car Park access from Broughton Street

Please note that the Video Intercom Unit inside your apartment is not Common Property and is your responsibility to maintain.

When a Visitor selects your apartment number and calls the following will occur:

1.   The Video Intercom in your apartment will ring for a short period

2.   The Video image will appear on the screen so that you may identify the visitor

Note: There is no need to pick up the handset to answer a call if you do not wish to acknowledge the visitor (i.e. do not want to be disturbed). You can use this to avoid nuisance calls, unwanted visitors etc. The visitor will not be aware that you have seen them on the Video.

3.     Pick up the handset and communicate with the visitor

4.     There are three buttons on your Video Intercom, they are:

Diamond

This button is not currently used

Circle

This button connects you to the Concierge

Key

This button releases the door and enables access to your floor

There is also a dial on the bottom of the Intercom that controls the lightness and darkness of the image.

When you have identified your visitor press the “Key” Button, this will release the door that is adjacent to the Video Intercom Entry Unit i.e. if the visitor is calling you from the Crown Street Entry, that is the only door that will be released.

5.        When you press the “Key” button this also enables the Lift for your floor only. Your visitor can now enter the Building, proceed to the particular lifts servicing your Tower, call the Lift, enter, and select your floor only. All other floor buttons are disabled.

Please note that the lift is only enabled 3 minutes so your visitor must make their way to the lift as fast as possible. This is particularly important if they are in the car park, as for example, some visitors take quite a while to unpack their car.

Remember to advise your visitors, which set of lifts, provide access to your apartment.

The Video Intercom unit has a built in timer that only allows communications for about 20 seconds after which time it will cancel both video and audio.
